  • Each category offers one prize in the value of £1000.
  • Entries are open for both categories between February and May 2022.

  • All submitted manuscripts must contain the author’s contact details and the synopsis within the same document.
  • Only completed manuscripts will be accepted, there are no requirements for a specific number of words in either category.
  • Entrants must be satisfied that their manuscript is complete; there will be no later opportunity to submit a different version.

  • Manuscripts should be: double-spaced on A4 layout, single-sided, with pages numbered, the entrant’s name and the title of the novel on every page.

  • Entrants may enter more than one work. Only one work will be accepted per entry.
  • A maximum of four (4) stories are allowed per entry in the Picture Book Category and one (1) novel per entry in the Middle-Grade Category.
  • Each entry will be judged in the context of the cohort of entries for the relevant year in which it was received. As such, any previously entered works are welcome to enter the current and future editions of the Prize.
